Links with the Church

Our children are actively involved in the life of the Church at St Mary’s, Thornton Watlass and Snape Methodist Church. The Reverend Canon Simon Moor, Reverend Gareth and Michelle lead collective worship regularly in school.

I am the Rev Canon Simon Moor and the Rector of St Mary’s Church, Thornton Watlass. Along with my colleagues Gareth and Michelle we come into school every week to share in collective worship. Our role is to inspire and direct our thoughts and prayers God-ward. The sessions are not one way streets; the children bring along their own experiences and questions. Why not ask what was talked about on Wednesday afternoons.

Hello, my name is Rev'd. Gareth, I am the Minister of Snape Methodist Church. Alongside Snape, I take care of several other churches as the Superintendent Minister of the Ripon and Lower Dales Methodist Circuit. I am married and we have a daughter at High School. The other member of our family is our dalmatian dog.

I am part of the collective worship team and enjoy sharing with the school in their collective worship times. Every time I lead collective worship, I am encouraged by how well all the children engage enthusiastically with the stories, singing and prayer times.

Easter Service

Pupils enjoyed a beautiful Easter Service at St Mary's Church, Thornton Watlass on the first day of Spring. The children were amazing, as always.
