EYFS Curriculum
Our Reception and Nursery children follow the Early Years Curriculum, which includes the seven key areas of learning and development. The three prime areas are: Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Physical Development; Communication and Language. The four specific areas are: Literacy; Mathematics; Understanding the World; Expressive Arts and Design.
Safeguarding and Welfare in EYFS
We are committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare. Our policy can be found below:
Phonics and Early Reading
We use 'Little Wandle Letters and Sounds' to teach phonics and early reading. Our organisation of reading books matches the teaching and learning sequence.
Mathematics
'Numberblocks' underpins our approach to teaching number, making links with other mathematical areas, eg - when the children learn the number five, they link this to time, money and shape etc.
EYFS Long Term Plan
Curriculum Expectation
Provision in EYFS is underpinned by the Statutory Framework. We use Development Matters to guide our curriculum planning and to support children to achieve a good level of development by the end of their time in Early Years.
