Rememberance Activity Snape 2025
Sunflowers learnt about the importance of Remembrance Day. We read a story called 'Where the Poppies now Grow' by Hilary Robinson and Martian Impey before making poppies for our Remembrance window display.
Robins' class had a special visit from John Knocks, who talk to the children about the importance of Remembrance Day. The children were fascinated to find out about the people whose names are on the war memorial in the village.
"There are six trees near the war memorial for the six people who lost their lives in the wars, one is a pink blossom for the only lady to die in the village." George A.
Today, the children from Snape Community School gathered at the cenotaph to honor the men and women who gave their lives in conflicts from WWI to the present day.
Each child placed a cross bearing the name of a fallen hero from the village of Snape, and three pupils gave a moving reading of In Flanders Fields by John McCrae.
After the service, we came together at the Methodist Chapel for refreshments and reflection—a heartfelt reminder of the importance of remembrance and community.
🌺 We will remember them.
