Welcome to Robins Class

Robins Class is taught on our Snape school site. Years 1 & 2 are taught within Robins. 

Our class teacher, Ms Reynard, guides our fantastic Robins to grow as individuals and as a team.  Mrs Lapthorne, Mrs Davies and Mrs Verity enhance our learning and support small groups with their knowledge and understanding as well as supporting the children’s learning, running catch-up programmes and ensuring that the children’s well-being and individual needs are met. Mrs Smith supports an individual child, but we work together as a team to make sure every child is challenged, is happy and is having fun.

Years 1 and 2 are a joyful and important stage in every child’s learning journey. During these formative years, we build upon the knowledge and skills our children bring with them, while opening doors to new ideas, subjects and experiences. We take pride in celebrating each child’s individuality and talents. Our classrooms are nurturing spaces where children are encouraged to try their best, support one another, and grow in confidence. Whether it’s offering a helping hand or sharing a smile, kindness and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. As children begin to take more ownership of their learning, we guide them toward becoming independent, curious and resilient learners. From Maths and English to Music and Religious Education, we approach every subject with enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence. At this stage, we’re not just learning—we’re laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

PE

Please make sure that your child has both indoor and outdoor PE kits in school; they should bring these into school on a Monday and take them home on a Friday to be washed. PE sessions take place on Monday and Friday afternoons. Please ensure that earrings are removed for PE days, as jewellery must not be worn for PE sessions for health and safety reasons.  Hair should also be tied back if long enough.

Home Learning

We know how eager parents and carers are to support their children’s learning beyond the classroom, and we hope the following guidance proves helpful in doing just that.  Homework plays a vital role in helping children become successful lifelong learners. At school, we value homework as an opportunity for children to practise key skills, reinforce their understanding, and build confidence through regular, focused tasks.

It also offers a valuable window into your child’s learning journey—giving you insight into what they’re exploring in school and allowing you to take an active role in their progress.

Whether it’s reading together, practising spellings, or tackling a few maths problems, your involvement makes a real difference.
