Mr Smith is our Potions Master!  Red Kites showed off some of our hard work on ‘Potions’ by inviting parents in to school for the afternoon.  We displayed some of our fantastic homework alongside the potion bottles we made in class.  The children showed their parents some of the PowerPoints they made, and a few taught their parents how to model with clay.

  • Safer Internet Day

    Tue 25 Feb 2020
Owls and Red Kites were joined by our friends from Kell Bank for ‘Safer Internet Day’.  The theme was 'Free to be Me' and we looked at ways we share our online identity.  We watched videos and discussed our reactions to various situations we may encounter online.  The children showed a really sensible attitude to using the Internet and the importance of taking care with the things we share online.

    Fri 14 Feb 2020

  • Sunflowers Around the World in a Day

    Fri 14 Feb 2020

The Sunflowers and their friends from Kell Bank boarded a flight to take them around the World on Tuesday.  They made their own passports and checked in with their boarding passes - they had to recognise letters and numbers to find the correct seats on the plane.  Off they all flew to the Arctic... and it really snowed!  The next leg of the flight was to Africa where the children walked in the desert and played in the sand.  Later in the day, they made fans to keep cool and drew pictures of all the wild animals they had seen on safari.

The children have also learned to use a sewing machine this week; they were fascinated to see how quickly a cushion could be made.  Thank you, Kerry, for sharing your skills with us.

  • Busy Little Sunflowers

    Mon 10 Feb 2020

Our Sunflowers have been really busy recently.  In RE, the children have made their own stained glass windows, based on Christian symbols.  The photographs show how beautiful they look in our hall window - we hope passersby will enjoy looking at them.  As part of our transport topic, the children have been learning about travelling by air.  Mrs Verity taught everyone how to make paper aeroplanes, then the children tested their craft to see how well they flew.  It was so exciting... the children were amazed how far their planes could travel!
